The Slammer and Squire, along with the entire World Golf Village Complex, was designed to honor the great game of golf, its players, history, and future. Designed by Bobby Weed with player consultants Sam "The Slammer" Snead and Gene "The Squire" Sarazen, this well manicured course preserves the pristine unspoiled wooded area, wetlands and natural beauty of the region. It is a challenging layout that does not unfairly penalize the inexperienced player.
The Slammer and Squire features two distinct nines. The front side meanders through an old pine forest linked together with wetland corridors to protect the indigenous vegetation and wildlife. The back nine, bordering the World Golf Village, finishes with a breathtaking view of the World Golf Hall of Fame that towers above the 18th green. This fun and interesting course has five sets of tees to challenge every caliber of player.
